The mother behind the name!

Updated: Jun 24, 2020

First and foremost I want to take a moment to say thank you from the bottom of my heart for even taking a hot second to stop by my blog. I understand that with little gremlins, I mean sweet and wonderful children! Even having a second to pee alone is a blessing!

My name is Jessica Rex. My husband Marc and I have been along side each other since high school. He is the absolute best human I have ever met. He takes a laid back approach to life which balances my on-the-go hyper personality.

We married young, I was 22 and Marc was 24. We had a destination wedding in Mexico surrounded by 30 close friends and family. After lots of consideration we settled on a destination wedding, as we didn't want to plan a single thing. We wanted our wedding to be easy and stress free! Not the matching napkins with table cloths or taste testing wedding cakes.

I chose the first dress I tried on, and Marc wore linen pants with a dress shirt. I even did my own hair and makeup! It was a wonderful week enjoying friends and family with tons of sun, to many strawberry daiquiris and absolutely zero stress. It was perfect!

Together we have 3 wonderful kids. Brooklyn is the oldest. She recently turned 10, and has the sweetest soul. She loves hard, and is mighty fierce! Especially entering those pre-teen years. Ellie also recently turned 8. The girls birthday's are 15 days apart. Ellie is her Dad through and through. She is laid back and rolls with whatever we have planned. She gets along with every personality. Last but not least is our son Luke. He is 4 and the most inquisitive little guy I have ever met. He wants to know what you are doing, and why you are doing it. ALWAYS!!

I'm going to close out my first post by saying. I am no writer. I may not have the catchy tag lines or the cutest photos. The photos on my website Brooklyn took for me. ( I do think she did an awesome job though). I am here to keep it real for you. I’m the mom who likes to wear her pj's all day. I am the mom who makes cookies just so she can eat half the batter. I am the mom who occasionally enjoys way to much Prosecco (parenting is hard work). I’m uncomplicated! I’m here to offer you basic ways to navigate parenthood! Not every mom can be a Pinterest mom. I applaud you if you can.
